Guy Mannering or The Astrologer is a novel by Sir Walter Scott, one of the most popular writers of the 19th century. The book was published by Cassell and Company, and has 384 pages plus advertisements. The story is set in Scotland in the 18th century, and follows the adventures of Harry Bertram, the son of a wealthy landowner, who is kidnapped by smugglers and rescued by a gypsy woman. The book also features the mysterious astrologer Guy Mannering, who predicts Harry’s fate.
