The book profiles the personalities and backgrounds of the 65 men who joined Scott’s venture, and the roles they played in the scientific, exploratory, and logistical aspects of the expedition. The book also narrates the tragic fate of Scott and his four companions who perished on their return from the South Pole. The book was published by Allen Lane in 1977 and has 331 pages.
